After a few moments of silence, Gurudev spoke again, "Your daughter has remembered her past life and her life partner from that birth in a dream last night. That is why, with Mahadev as her witness, she has blindfolded her eyes in anticipation of her former husband. I have stayed here since yesterday just to explain this to both of you. Her ordeal is difficult, and she cannot move forward without your help. Therefore, I say—stop worrying and support her."
The Queen asked anxiously, "But Gurudev, who will her husband be and when will he arrive? How long will my child remain like this?"Consoling her, the preceptor said, "Have patience, daughter, and have faith in God as well. Now, everything will be auspicious. The watch of joy and sorrow keeps changing. One should not trust circumstances, but rather their loved ones and themselves. Your daughter is capable of facing any situation, and after all, you are with her."
The Queen felt somewhat reassured by the preceptor's words. Maharaja Manvendra Singh said, "We must accept your command and our daughter's decision. The Princess has always been stubborn, but Gurudev, how is it possible that we don't even try to reason with her?"
Gurudev said, "When did I say not to say anything? Certainly, reason with her. It is natural for parents to be worried about such stubbornness, but excessive pressure will create stress in her mind. Now, call the Princess; I will try to explain things to her myself. Though only that which is destined shall happen, performing our duty is our essential dharma."
The Maharaja signaled a guard and ordered him to bring the Princess respectfully. The guard departed immediately.
For some time, the preceptor continued to advise the royal couple on maintaining patience. Then, the sound of the Princess's arrival was heard. She was wearing white garments with red borders.
Chanda held her hand, and the other friends followed behind to seek the preceptor's blessings. Everyone, including the Princess, offered respectful salutations. Then, at the preceptor's signal, the friends left the room, leaving the Princess there.Pretending to be unaware, Gurudev asked the Princess the reason for the blindfold. In response, she remained silent and bowed her head. The preceptor explained to her how this decision would increase complexities in her life and cause pain to her parents. By now, the Princess realized that this path was not easy, and she had no logical answer to give. She sobbed at her helplessness. Seeing their daughter cry, the King and Queen grew frantic, embraced her, and offered consolation.
The Maharaja said emotionally, "Daughter! Whatever the reason for your decision, we are with you. I give you my word that no one will ask you the reason anymore. I will talk to the parents of Chanda, Bhama, and your other friends to get their consent so they can stay with you in the palace by turns to help you. Now, leave your grief and strive to fulfill your vow. Just tell me this—is this a lifelong decision, or will we ever see affection for us shimmering in your kohl-lined eyes again?"At her father's question, the Princess clung to him emotionally and said, "Father! I have full faith that I will see you, the revered Gurudev, and Mother again... and everything will be as it was. Just give me some time." Saying this, the Princess joined her hands toward Gurudev. Gurudev rose, placed a hand of blessing on her head, and said, "It shall be so, daughter! May that auspicious time come soon; that is my blessing."
Afterward, the Princess was sent back to her quarters with her friends. The King and Queen conversed with the preceptor for a while, and then he expressed his wish to depart for his ashram. By evening, the preceptor left the palace. Meanwhile, Princess Swarnaprabha's life had now completely transformed.
For some time, the parents made every effort to persuade the Princess, but she did not agree to remove the blindfold. Ultimately, everyone gave up out of helplessness and began to pass the time in the hope that one day, the Princess herself would break this bond. The royal family and the subjects also gradually accepted the Princess’s incomparable face with the blindfold over her eyes.
Every morning, the Princess’s parents and dear friends would head toward her chamber with the hope that perhaps today the veil from their dear Princess’s beautiful eyes would be gone, but this hope was shattered daily. To ensure she didn't get angry or sad from repeated questioning, everyone stopped asking; however, the roots of curiosity and disappointment grew deeper in everyone’s mind.Soon, the discussion regarding the Princess crossed the borders of the kingdom and spread far and wide. People were stunned—why had such a beautiful, intelligent, and beloved Princess taken such a suicidal decision? Years passed, and in the entire Chandangarh as well as neighboring states, the extraordinary beauty of Swarnaprabha and the mysterious blindfold over her eyes became the talk of the town. Since no one was familiar with the actual truth, various speculations and rumors became the main subject of discussion.
One day, these floating rumors reached Sauvirnagar. As we read earlier, this curiosity also reached the ears of Prince Vikramaditya and his friend Dhruvdev. They had only two questions— 'What does Princess Swarnaprabha look like?' and 'Why is there a blindfold over her eyes?' To investigate this truth, they made a firm resolve.
Receiving a letter of permission from Maharaja Sukarmaditya through Karnasingh, the Prince and Dhruvdev spent some time hunting in the border forests of Sauvirnagar and Chandangarh, controlling the menace of wild animals. Once the problem of the subjects was resolved, they moved forward with their resolve. Disguising themselves and keeping their identities completely secret, they entered the borders of Chandangarh and, without wasting time, reached the capital, Swarnapur.'To be continued...'
In the next part: Years passed, but the blindfold did not leave Suvarna’s eyes! Crossing the borders of Chandangarh, this mystery has now reached the neighboring state of Sauvirnagar. Will Prince Vikramaditya and his friend Dhruvdev be able to find the truth behind this mysterious blindfold? What will be the next step of these strangers who have reached the streets of Swarnapur in disguise? What new curiosity will the Prince's quest bring in the capital of Chandangarh?
