विषय: सरलता का सौंदर्य और आत्मनिर्भरता का पाठ

दोस्तों! आज इस श्रृंखला की आखिरी कड़ी में एक बार फिर चर्चा अपने उसी लाडले-दुलारे मनीप्लांट की...।
जैसा कि मैंने पहले बताया था, मेरा यह मनीप्लांट वर्षों से सिर्फ़ पानी के सहारे हरा-भरा था। लेकिन पिछले दिनों मैंने इसे एक नन्हे गमले की मिट्टी में रोप दिया। लटका तो वह अब भी मेरी उसी खिड़की पर है, और वह अब भी पहले की तरह ही खुश है—जैसे उसके लिए कुछ बदला ही न हो!
अब आप इसे 'बेवकूफ' कहें, 'संत' कहें या सिर्फ़ एक 'पौधा'—पर मेरे लिए तो यह एक दोस्त, उपदेशक, हमराज़ और रूममेट (Roommate) की तरह है। शायद आपको यह सुनकर हँसी आए, पर यह सचमुच मेरे लिए बहुत खास है। यह मुझे सिखाता है—बिना उलझे जीना और बिना शिकायत किए मुस्कुराना।
आप खुद देखिए, जब यह सिर्फ़ पानी के सहारे था, तब भी खुश था। अब इसे खाद और मिट्टी की सुविधा मिल गई है, तब भी यह पूर्ववत मगन है। न तब अभाव की निराशा थी, न अब सुविधा का अहंकार है। शायद इसीलिए मुझे इससे इतना जुड़ाव है। सोते-जागते, आँखों के सामने मुस्कुराती उसकी यह हरियाली मुझे भी हौसला देती रहती है।
एक दिन मैंने उससे पूछा— "दोस्त! कैसे जी लेते हो तुम इतनी सरलता और इतनी मस्ती से?"
उसने बोलकर तो जवाब नहीं दिया, पर अपनी चिर-परिचित मुस्कान के साथ मानो संकेत किया— "सरल बनो! जीवन के प्रति, संसार के प्रति और ईश्वर से प्राप्त संसाधनों के प्रति।"
मैंने फिर पूछा— "पर मित्र! हम मनुष्यों का जीवन इतना सरल कहाँ है?"
इस बार उसकी खामोशी से एक गहरा जवाब आया— "तो इसे सरल बनाने का प्रयास करो। अपनी 'आवश्यकताओं' को अपनी 'निर्भरता' मत बनने दो।"
बस, यह सुनकर मैं निरुत्तर हो गई...।

Friends! In the final episode of this series today, once again, let's talk about that beloved Money Plant of mine...
As I mentioned earlier, for years, this Money Plant of mine thrived beautifully just on water. But recently, I planted it into the soil of a tiny pot. It still hangs by that same window of mine, and it is just as happy as before—as if nothing has changed for it at all!
Now, you may call it 'foolish', a 'saint', or simply a 'plant'—but for me, it is like a friend, a preacher, a confidant, and a roommate. It might make you smile to hear this, but it truly is very special to me. It teaches me—how to live without getting entangled, and how to smile without complaining.
See for yourself, when it relied solely on water, it was happy. Now that it has been blessed with the comfort of fertilizer and soil, it remains just as blissfully content as before. There was no despair of scarcity back then, nor is there any arrogance of privilege now. Perhaps that is why I feel such a deep connection with it. Whether I am awake or asleep, its greenery smiling right before my eyes keeps giving me courage.
One day, I asked it— "My friend! How do you live with such simplicity and such joy?"
It didn’t answer in words, but with its familiar smile, it seemed to gesture— "Be simple! Towards life, towards the world, and towards the resources blessed upon you by the Almighty."
I asked again— "But friend! Where is human life that simple?"
This time, a profound answer emerged from its silence— "Then make an effort to simplify it. Do not let your 'needs' become your 'dependencies'."
That was it, hearing this, I was left completely speechless...
