'Suvarana: The Saga' Episode - 16
The Revelation of the Sage
Previously: The blindfold over Princess Suvarna’s eyes has plunged the entire royal palace into deep concern. The King and Queen are distressed, yet they haven't been able to ask the Princess anything openly when suddenly, a summons arrives from the Royal Preceptor, Acharya Saraswatinandan. Is this summons a mere coincidence? Or some divine influence of the Royal Preceptor? Now, further...
🥀°°°°🥀°°°°🥀°°°°🥀°°°°🥀
The royal couple reached the guest house and found the chamber in complete solitude. The preceptor was standing near the vatayan (window), looking outside, his facial expression extremely grave.
The King and Queen offered their respectful salutations (pranam). Raising both hands, the preceptor gave his blessings and walked toward his seat with a steady, solemn gait.
The preceptor was an elderly scholar named ‘Shri Saraswatinandan Acharya.’ Acharya-shri had a dusky complexion; he kept a long white beard and always wore white robes. His deep, insightful eyes gave his personality a distinct dignity. Previously, his mentor was the family preceptor of this royal household, but before passing, he had handed over this responsibility to Acharya-shri, inspiring him to fulfill it faithfully. There was a secret reason behind this, of which the royal family was still unaware, but perhaps the time had come for the veil to be lifted from the mystery.
Sitting on the seat, the preceptor gestured for the royal couple to sit as well. Once they were seated, he spoke in a steady, grave voice, "Is all well, Rajan? There seems to be some commotion in the palace!"
The King joined his hands respectfully and said, "It is your grace, Revered One! Today, this commotion is due to a sudden decision by the Princess; we are coming from there."
The preceptor spoke calmly, "The Princess has tied a blindfold over her eyes, and that is why you are worried?"
The King said in astonishment, "The Respected One has received the news already! We haven't been able to find the reason for it yet. The friends told the Maharani that the Princess is telling no one, and when asked, she stopped them by making them swear an oath. If you permit, should we call her here? She has been sharing her heart's feelings with you since childhood. We feel she has more trust and unwavering faith in you than in us, therefore..."
The preceptor raised his hand, stopping the Maharaja mid-sentence, and said, "There is no need for that, Rajan! This is the 'Written Fate' (Vidhi ka Vidhan) for the Princess... neither of you should worry."
The Queen’s eyes filled with tears. With a bit of hesitation, she joined her hands and said, "Gurudev! Your words must be true, but I am a mother. Ever since I saw that blindfold on her eyes, my heart has been sinking. Why has my child chosen such a dark path without any reason? And in such a state, her future...!" The Queen sobbed, and the Maharaja’s eyes also turned moist.
The preceptor remained silent. A few moments passed in wordless silence. When the Queen composed herself slightly, she apologized, saying, "Forgive me, Gurudev! The mind of a Queen holds complete faith and devotion in you, but a mother’s heart cannot rest on mere assurance."
The preceptor said with a slight, sweet smile, "But daughter, I haven't given any assurance yet."
The Maharaja said, "Gurudev, you said, ‘This is the Written Fate for the Princess,’ what does that mean? Did you know that something like this was going to happen?" Hearing this, the Queen also started and looked at the preceptor with wonder and questioning eyes.
The preceptor took a deep breath and began to speak, "Yes, Rajan! I knew, and my Guru knew too. But it was not appropriate to say anything before the time was right. Come, let me tell you an ancient tale; listen to it carefully..."
"Once, in a dense forest, a pair of birds lived on a massive tree. On a freezing winter night, a tired traveler came to stay under that very tree. He was shivering. Those birds living on the tree accepted him as their guest and arranged a bonfire for him with their tiny strength. When they realized that their guest was hungry and they couldn't gather food in the thick darkness of the night, taking a harsh decision, both of them threw themselves into the flames of that bonfire, so that the traveler could use their bodies to satisfy his hunger." (Hearing this, the Queen put her hand over her mouth in shock).
The preceptor continued, "That night, those birds saved the traveler’s life by sacrificing themselves. But that traveler kept thinking all night—why did those birds take such a suicidal step? That question always haunted him. He sought the answer from many sages and ascetics, but found no satisfaction. Finally, he reached the refuge of our worshipful Gurudev, the late Nityanand Maharaj ji. Gurudev explained the essence of those birds to him and told him what had actually happened that night..." (After this, the preceptor narrated the entire story of Gaura and the sparrow in detail).
After finishing the story, the Guru became silent for a few moments and sank into deep reflection with his head bowed. The royal couple was also speechless.
After a few moments, when the preceptor raised his head, tears were floating in his eyes. The King and Queen were stunned to see this. Before they could say anything, Gurudev composed himself. Now his eyes held no tears, but the same familiar gravity.
He spoke in a steady voice, "Do you know, Rajan, that traveler was me! Back then I was not like this... I was an ordinary youth who cared for nothing, but the selfless sacrifice of those birds changed my entire philosophy of life. When I heard that saga from Gurudev's lips, it felt as if he were present there himself. At that very moment, all my worldly attachments were destroyed, and I became detached."
The preceptor took another deep breath and said with a faint smile, "You will be greatly astonished to know that the same virtuous sparrow has been born as your daughter. You might remember, I had previously hinted regarding her fear of fire, that it has a deep connection with her past life." While saying this, the preceptor’s smile deepened. The King and Queen were dumbfounded, looking sometimes at Gurudev and sometimes at each other.
'To be continued....'
🥀°°°°🥀°°°°🥀°°°°🥀°°°°🥀
In the next part: "That traveler was me!"—this confession by the preceptor has pulled the ground from beneath the King and Queen’s feet. The self-sacrifice of a sparrow and the renunciation of a traveler—how is Suvarna’s destiny linked to the preceptor’s past? Will the parents be able to accept this 'divine' truth of their daughter? The layers of the mystery are yet to unfold further... Don't forget to read the next exciting episode of Suvarna!

"No one knows Triyacharitra" (An Indian Folk Tale)
Friend's! This story is a classic Indian folk tale, the kind people used to share while huddled around a bonfire on chilly winter nights for entertainment.
🌾🌻🌾🌻🌾🌻🌾🌻🌾🌻🌾
The Tale Begins:
Once upon a time, in a small village, lived a farmer couple. Though they were childless, they shared a bond of profound love. The husband was simple-hearted and naive, while the wife was exceptionally sharp and intelligent. Their days were filled with harmony and joy.
One day, while chatting with friends in the village, the husband heard a new word: 'Triyacharitra' (the enigmatic nature or 'character' of a woman). Intrigued, he asked for its meaning, but his friends only mocked his innocence. Feeling dejected and slightly embarrassed, he returned home.
As usual, his wife served his favorite meal with love, but he sat down to eat with a heavy heart. His sharp-witted wife immediately sensed something was wrong. She asked, "What happened? Is the food not to your liking, or is something else troubling you? Why the long face?"
After some initial hesitation, he eventually gave in to her persistence and confessed everything. Internally, the wife smiled at her husband's simplicity but remained composed.
He asked, "Do you know what 'Triyacharitra' means?"
"Yes, I do," she replied calmly.
Delighted, he said, "Then explain it to me!"
With a playful glint in her eyes, she teased, "Shall I tell you about it, or would you like me to show you?"
The innocent farmer replied, "If you just tell me, I might not fully grasp it. If you can show me, then please do, so I can understand it well."
"Fine," she said. "I will show you someday. Now rest, while I finish my chores."
But the husband insisted, "Why wait? Show me now!"
Laughing, she replied, "Patience! This isn't a dance performance I can just start on a whim. It’s 'Triyacharitra.' I promise, I will show you soon."
Trusting his wife’s word, he let the matter drop. A couple of days passed, and he grew busy with his fields and bullocks. One day, the wife went to the local market and secretly bought a fine fish, hiding it from her husband. That night, through casual conversation, she found out which field he planned to plow the next morning. Once he was fast asleep, she crept out to that very field and buried the fish deep in the soil.
The next morning began like any other. The farmer headed to his fields with his plow and bullocks, while his wife tended to the household chores. As he was plowing, the blade struck the spot where the fish was buried, and it popped right out of the soil. The farmer was stunned. "What on earth is this?" But as soon as he picked it up, he danced with joy, for he absolutely loved eating fish.
The farmer replied, "You can cook later! Look, I found a fish in the field. Cook this today, and we’ll enjoy it together when I return."
Pretending to be pleased, the wife said, "Alright, I'll cook it. But go back to the field first! You've left the bullocks unattended; if they run off, you'll be searching for them all day. Just because of a little fish, you can't even keep your feet on the ground!"
"Why shouldn't I be happy?" the farmer retorted. "It’s been so long since I've had fish. You went to the market yesterday but didn't even think of bringing one for me. Now I’m going back to the bullocks, make sure you cook it perfectly!"
With that, he left, and his wife headed to the kitchen.
After cooking the fish, she hid it away completely and scrubbed the kitchen so clean that not even a faint scent remained. However, she tucked two small pieces into her clothing. At noon, the farmer returned, dreaming of the delicious meal awaiting him. He bathed and sat down to eat, but his wife served the usual simple fare—the fish was nowhere to be seen.
The farmer asked, "What's this? You didn't serve the fish! You silly woman, did you forget?"
His wife widened her eyes in confusion. "Fish? What fish?"
The farmer said, "Stop teasing, I’m starving! Serve the fish quickly."
Annoyed, she snapped, "Why do you keep going on about fish? Where would I get a fish to cook for you?"
The farmer shouted, "Where did it come from? I brought it from the field myself this morning!"
The wife replied, "Have you lost your mind? How on earth could anyone find a fish in a plowed field?"
The farmer’s temper flared. "Watch it, or I'll strike you! You must want to eat it all yourself. You’ve never behaved like this before, what’s gotten into you today?"
His wife sighed, "There you go again! Since when do fish grow in fields? The sun must have gotten to your head and scrambled your brain!"
The farmer finally lost all control and lunged at his wife. She dashed out of the house, screaming at the top of her lungs, "Help! Someone help! My husband has lost his mind! He’s talking nonsense and trying to kill me! I am ruined!"
Hearing the commotion, the villagers gathered. When the furious farmer tried to strike her, the neighbors stepped in and restrained him.
"I brought a fish from the field!" the farmer pleaded desperately.
But his wife retorted, "Since when did fish start growing in plowed fields?"
The villagers agreed with her logic, and the poor farmer began to look genuinely insane in their eyes. To prevent any harm, they tied him to a wooden pillar. The wife sat nearby, sobbing quietly.
As the villagers began to head back to their homes, she discreetly pulled out the hidden pieces of fish from her saree and started eating them right in front of her husband.
"Look! Look! She’s eating the fish right in front of me!" the farmer yelled. The villagers turned back instantly, but by then, the wife’s hands were empty.
She broke into fresh tears, crying, "He sees fish everywhere! Oh, what will become of me?"
Annoyed by his repeated outbursts, the villagers left for good.
The wife repeated the trick. Exhausted and defeated, the farmer's eyes welled up. "Why are you doing this to me? I always thought you were so kind,"
he whispered.
Seeing her husband in tears, the wife's heart finally melted. She quickly untied the ropes and wiped her own tears. "Wasn't it you who wanted to see 'Triyacharitra'?" she asked softly.
The farmer was stunned. "What? So this was it?"
She laughed, "Yes, my dear innocent husband! To prove that something 'is' when it 'isn't,' and to prove that something 'isn't' when it clearly 'is'—that is the essence of Triyacharitra. Do you understand now?"
The farmer held his head in his hands and sighed, "Yes, I understand completely! Now, please swear that you will never show me 'Triyacharitra' ever again!"
They both burst into laughter and lived happily ever after.

The Waterfall of Time
The Waterfall of Time

Friends!
Time is often compared to the flowing water of a river—neither ever stops, they simply keep moving forward.
Someone once asked a very profound question:
"What is the best thing about time?"
The answer came— "That it never stops."
The seeker asked again:
"What is the worst thing about time?"
The answer remained the same— "That it never stops."
Perhaps this very paradox of time is its greatest strength.
When life is filled with happiness, time’s refusal to stop bothers us. We wish for moments to stand still so we could live them to the fullest. In those times, its passage feels like a 'curse.'
But in tough times, it is exactly the opposite. We wish for time to grow wings and fly away, but then it feels as if time has 'broken its legs' and sat down right beside us. We all have, at some point, endured this shackled pace of time, where it neither stops nor speeds up at our will.
Today's presentation is a poem I wrote during the difficult period of the Corona era. A time when silence surrounded us, and outside, a 'macabre dance' of time and death was underway. The entire world was simply praying for that grim period to pass.
I know that for many of us, that era became a wound that may never fully heal. My intention is not to poke at those memories or cause pain, but the purpose of sharing this poem today is to offer a small solace to those who are struggling with some 'bad patch' in their lives at this very moment.
Remember, no matter how deep the water is, it eventually flows away...
🥀 Poetic Solace:
"Like a waterfall, this tough time too shall flow away, just pray,
A profound lesson from this phase shall come your way, just pray.
This stage was but a stop on the road, it too shall pass, just pray,
'Nishabd', even in the depths of silence, let the heart simply pray."

'Suvarana: The Saga' Episode - 15
The Unyielding Resolve
Previously: Memories of her past life awakened an unparalleled love in Suvarna's heart for her husband from her previous birth. With Lord Mahadev as her witness, she tied a blindfold over her eyes and took a vow that she would now only see her husband from that past life. Now, moving forward...
🥀°°°°🥀°°°°🥀°°°°🥀°°°°🥀
Upon waking up in the morning, even routine daily chores seemed extremely difficult for the Princess in this new state, but she was a woman of firm determination. She had made up her mind that she would live this way from now on.
As her friends and maidservants entered the chamber, they were stunned. Everything was fine until last night, so why this sudden blindfold?
Hearing the Princess’s serious and commanding tone, the friends froze.
Chanda’s eyes filled with tears, and she spoke in a cracked voice, "What happened, Sakhi? Are you so upset with our mistake from yesterday that you won't even look at our faces now?"
The Princess quickly reached out, felt for her hand, and held it to reassure her, "Sakhi, that can never happen. But do not even ask me why I have done this... I cannot tell you the reason. I swear by my life to all of you, do not pressure me to reveal this secret or to remove this blindfold!"
The friends were left speechless. The Princess continued, "Now, please assist me with my bath and adornment." Chanda, Madhavi, Pushpa, Kamini, and all the other friends immediately set to work helping her.
Since the Princess could not see, Bhama took advantage of the situation and quietly slipped away. As soon as she left the chamber, she ran like an arrow toward the Queen Mother’s quarters. Not finding her there, she rushed toward the royal kitchen, as the Queen herself used to cook for the King and the Princess and supervised all other arrangements. Bhama was certain she would find her there.
Bhama saw the Queen Mother heading toward the kitchen; meanwhile, hearing the thud of Bhama’s running, the Queen Mother also stopped to look at her. Reaching her, Bhama called out breathlessly, "Queen Mother!"
Queen Ratnagarbha smiled and said, "You silly girl! Why do you keep running like this? When will you improve? Wait... wait, what is this? Why are you crying? Is our Suvarna alright?"
Catching her breath and wiping her eyes, Bhama said, "Queen Mother, please come quickly! Heaven knows what the Princess has thought... she has tied a blindfold over her eyes and won't remove it despite our repeated pleas."
Hearing this, the Queen Mother grew anxious and hurried toward the Princess’s chamber. When she arrived, Phulwa, the maidservant who was cleaning, informed her that the Princess and her friends had already gone to the bathing area. The Queen’s gaze fell upon the corner of the room that had been scorched the previous night. She said to Phulwa, "Phulwa, have this burnt corner of the room cleaned immediately. It was late last night, and I left it so as not to inconvenience the Princess, but why hasn't it been cleaned yet?" At Phulwa's signal, another maid began the cleaning.
The Queen Mother sat on the Princess’s bed waiting for her, but the King arrived before the Princess. Someone had informed him that the Queen Mother had suddenly gone to the Princess’s chamber after speaking with Bhama. Through the servants, the news had spread through the entire palace in the blink of an eye that the Princess had blindfolded herself.
Before the King could ask the Queen anything, the Princess entered through the other door, holding Chanda’s hand. In her white garments with red borders, the Princess looked like a graceful swan, but seeing the blindfold on her eyes, the Queen Mother clutched her heart. The King stepped forward quickly and took the Princess’s hand himself, embracing his daughter, "What happened, my darling! Is there any pain in your eyes? I will call the Royal Physician right now."
The Princess said, "No, Father! Nothing has happened to my eyes, and there is no need for the Royal Physician. Please do not trouble him."
"But daughter, why? Why this sudden blindfold?" The King could not speak further; he simply became overwhelmed with emotion. The entire room grew heavy with the weight of feelings.
Just then, a maidservant came with a message, "Victory to the King and Queen! A message has come from the guest house—the family preceptor, Acharya Saraswatinandan ji, wishes to meet you immediately. He is also keen to meet the Queen and the Princess."
The King looked at the Queen and said, "I had him stay in the guest house after the celebrations yesterday. Come, let us meet him first. Chanda, you bring the Princess after we call for her. (To the Queen) Come, it is not right to keep him waiting longer."
The Queen wiped her tears and nodded in agreement, "Let’s go."
